Our Story
Our Journey to Build Something Better

Verabound Behavioral Services LLC specializes in naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions (NDBIs) for children ages 1-6 diagnosed with autism. Our evidence-based practices prioritize psychological safety, playful learning, and strong relationships between therapists and children.
Verbound Behavioral Services LLC was founded by Katelinn Jackard, a dedicated behavior analyst with years of experience supporting young children and their families. After witnessing the limitations of rigid, compliance-based models, she set out to create something different—an environment where children learn through joy, connection, and respect. Inspired by developmentally grounded, play-based approaches, she built Verbound Behavioral Services to center each child’s voice, interests, and strengths in every session.
We proudly serve families across northern Oakland County and Macomb County in Michigan, helping children achieve developmental milestones while fostering joy and autonomy in their everyday lives.
Our Core Values
At Verabound Behavioral Services, every part of our approach is grounded in values that ensure safe, affirming, and joyful care for children and their families.
Compassion
We prioritize understanding and empathy in our interactions, ensuring that every child feels supported and valued throughout their journey of growth.
Autonomy
We support each child’s ability to make choices and direct their own learning. When children are active participants—rather than passive recipients—they experience greater engagement, stronger skill retention, and more meaningful long-term outcomes. By honoring their preferences, pace, and voice, we help them build confidence and take ownership of their growth.
Joy
We intentionally create joyful moments in every session. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, regulated, and are actively engaged in activities that bring them happiness and meaning.
Psychological Safety
We foster environments where children feel emotionally secure, respected, and free to express themselves. When children feel safe, they are more likely to take risks, explore, and engage in new learning opportunities.
Affirming Neurodiversity
We celebrate neurological differences as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. By respecting each child’s unique strengths and ways of thinking, we promote authentic self-esteem and more relevant, personalized learning outcomes.
Assent
We prioritize the child’s willingness to participate. When children are invited, not coerced, into learning, they feel more in control, more respected, and more motivated—leading to deeper, more cooperative engagement.
Flexibility
We adapt to each child’s developmental stage, communication style, and daily experience. Our approach is not rigid or scripted—we make moment-by-moment decisions based on the child’s needs, emotions, and interests. This real-time responsiveness helps children stay regulated, feel heard, and benefit from more meaningful, effective learning experiences.
